Sam Rocha is a philosopher of education with expertise in phenomenology and aesthetics in the Continental, American, and Catholic  philosophical traditions. As a Gates Millennium Scholar, he did his undergraduate work in philosophy at Franciscan University of Steubenville, a masters in education at the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN), and another masters and a Ph.D. in philosophy of education from The Ohio State University. For two years he was the Owen Duston Visiting Assistant Professor in philosophy and teacher education at Wabash College and presently is an assistant professor in the educational foundations and research graduate program at the University of North Dakota. He is also the president of the Society for the Philosophical Study of Education and an active member of the Philosophy of Education Society. Rocha has published over twenty scholarly articles, chapters, and reviews, hundreds of essays and posts at Patheos, First Things, Contending Modernities, Vox Nova and other online publications, along with a collection of essays and a chapbook of poetry. His next book, Education, Study, and the Human Person, will be published in 2014 by Atropos Press. ï»¿
